I have a MP3 player and like to listen to upbeat songs while I workout. I loaded about 20 songs from old CDs onto the MP3, but now I want more songs. I have heard about downloading songs from the internet, (Napster, etc), but I have never done it.

Does anyone have any recommended sites--cheap and easy to use--for downloading music? Again, I have a MP3 player, and someone once told me that it can be trickier to download to MP3 players. (?? ??) Also, I want to be able to keep the songs I download. I heard that on some sites the songs won't work anymore after you cancel the subscription. (?)

Help! I'm new at this!

when my son had his mp3, i always downloaded from walmart. the songs were .88 compared to .99 from other sites. just check to make sure you select the correct format. i forget which one, but it says on the site which one is mp3 compatible.

Amazon.com is good, too. Their prices vary, but most are around 89 cents.

I used Napster to download Disney music onto my girl's mp3 players. It was very easy to use. You have to pay a monthly subscription so I did a lot at once and then cancelled it.

JennyH, I have the opposite problem. Going on a trip and want to use the MP3 feature on my phone for the first time. I just got some new CDs I want to get onto the MP3 player. What is the best way? DH is talking about ripping the CDs and then using the USB cable and I'm lost. I'm on a mac.

I'm not very computer savvy, that's for sure! I just did everything off of my computer, but I have Windows Vista. (I used the Media Player). I added the CDs to my Media Player Library, and then I connected my MP3 player to my computer via the USB cable, finally adding the songs from the Library to the MP3 player. (I'm terrible at explanations!) Perhaps someone has some ideas for you, using a Mac??
