I started collecting spoons on our honeymoon. It is a nice reminder of where we have been. I really like the magnet and postcard idea too.
Oh and thanks for the disney link!

DS is 40m and has been to Disney 4 times. Every time we go there, I make sure I stock up at the Disney Store at home. I get great deal on stuffed animals, tees, toys etc. I make sure some items are EASILY packed and they go in my suitcase. So when we get back from one of the parks or Downtown Disney there is a souvenir or treat already on the bed (I leave the room last or get in before DH and DS). DS really enjoys coming home to a treat!

I read somewhere about the idea of getting one postcard for each child on each day of the vacation. Have them journal on the back about their day. Then, let them pick a keychain at the end of the vacation. Punch a hole in the cards and attach them with the keychain. Voila-instant picture journal. I love this idea!

We do the rock thing, too!!!

I also love the postcard/keychain idea - that would be so neat for them to look at and read when they're older!

When I moved to Germany, my mom insisted that I keep a journal and make entries every day - not only so everyone could read them when I came home, but it's really cool to look back and remember the little things that I have forgotten about living there. I LOVE the journaling on the back of the postcard idea....I'm going to have to remember that!

That's what my dh and I started too.. It's fun getting them out at christmas. The girls now look for them when we are on vacation.
