My family and I are going to Universal Studios this November, yes I know that it is a bit away, but I'm very excited Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about the trip. We are going with our 2 ds, 9 and 2! A bit of an age difference, but I think it will be fun. What would you avoid? What do we need to see? Has anyone stayed at the Nick Hotel, the 9 year old really wants to stay, but I've read bad reviews! Just looking for some advice and money saving tips if anyone has any! Can always find stuff on Disney, but not Universal!! Thanks so much!!

We stayed at the nick hotel and it was great. It is something to do at least once....the kids had a blast in the pool. Do the character breakfast, that was a great treat for the kids.

We stayed at the Nick Hotel for a week in 2006 it was great. My kids loved the pools. We will be spending the last night of our vacation there this year.

We stayed in Universal at one of the hotels, for us it was definitely worth the price. We went last June and when you stay at their hotels, you don't wait in any lines! Since June is so hot, I thought it was worth it. You should check out the website universalstudios.com (I think). There is a lot of information. We brought our own drinks in and left for lunch. I don't think the food plan is worth it because it all looked like greasy food, so I was glad I didn't buy it. We had a blast! Have fun!

Thank you so much!! I'm glad to hear that we should stay at the Nick Hotel. My oldest ds has been talking about staying there since last year, then I was reading reviews and they were all bad, so it's nice to hear some positive things! Thank you also for the tip on the character breakfast I don't know if I would of thought of that one!! Also I didn't realize that you could bring your own drinks in!! That is a great money saver! We were thinking of purchasing the meal plan, I will defianetly look more into that one, I don't want to eat all grease on vacation!! We probably won't stay at the Nick Hotel the whole time, kind of pricey, so it's nice to know that you get perks by staying at the Universal hotels, I'm going to go check all this out right now!! Thanks so much for the info

In the past Universal has run specials like buy and adult ticket, get a kid one free. Check their website for up to the minute deals. There honestly isn't a lot for 2 yo to do there. I guess Seuss land, but my son hated it (he was very scared of it for some reason). He did like the characters though so we hunted them down and got lots of pictures with them. He enjoyed the Barney show too. The 9 yo will probably love it. My older son loves Dudleys rickshaw falls. If your son is into roller coasters, there are some great ones there, even the smaller ones are fun. Make sure he goes to the Spiderman ride, it is great.

I will defianetly keep my eye open for the buy one get a child free! That is a great help. I'm sure the 2 yr old will love Barney! We are going right before they begin their Christmas celebration, I guess they turn Seuss ville into Grinch land, I'm hoping if we visit there towards the end of the week that they will be decorated because they open their christmas stuff the weekend we are leaving! My 9 yr old has been planning this trip since I was pregnant with the 2 yr old, I just don't want him to be disappointed! Thanks again for all the advice!
