We've decided to go to Charleston-mostly for the beach and the fishing.
I've learned there is a children's museum and an aquarium. For those that live there or have visited there, what are some great kid things to do-places to visit-restaurants? It would have to be for younger kids, under 9.

Thanks!
Michele

The Children's Museum is awesome. My boys (6&8 at the time) loved playing on the shrimp boat inside! Walking along the Battery, the kids can see real cannonballs and cannons. There is also a splash fountain and family swings at one end. A trip to Fort Sumpter is fun. A horse and buggy ride is a must in Charleston, as is the Old Slave Market and Customs House. I highly recommend the Shem Creek Bar and Grill (in nearby Shem Creek.) Our trips to Charleston usually include a day trip to Savannah. My boys just love the Pirate House Restaurant. (Now I'm in the mood to go back! Isle of Palms is calling my name...)
