The nearest one to me is 40 miles away. I thought about making it a neat day trip to a new town, but then I realized that most of the movies they are showing, are being showed here on large screens in the local parks this summer. But it does look like a great deal to people who live close by.

I thought it was about time to check into this again for the summer. The theaters around here are usually really good about having $2 movies and/or cheap concessions for the kids during the day. Some even let the parents see the movie for free when going with their kids.

This is a nice option for people, but I recommend you go early if this is available to you. The one here turns into a mad house. Daycares bring bus loads of kids in.

Our local theater does something like this, but they do it in the fall.

I think we would enjoy it more in the summer. It would be a great way to get out of the hot sun and not have to mess with everyone's jackets. But I am thankful that they do any program at all.

I love the ones we have outdoors, here. Come early, lay out your blanket, bring your own snacks. The little one can run around until it starts(right by us of course, it gets crowded)The only problem is, they don't start until dusk, so if I had plans for the morning, it really isn't a good idea to go. And by the time the movie starts, my husband might be ready for bed. Plus a couple years ago, they did the movie Big with Tom Hanks. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, so I didn't realize it wasn't kid apropriate. Lucky for us during those inappropriate scenes my girls were using the restroom.
