Does anyone else order pay per view on occasion instead of using the movie theaters? Last weekend my husband ordered Alvin And The Chipmunks on pay per view for $2.99 and I thought that was fun and much cheaper than bringing the whole family to the movies, having to buy snacks there, gas to get there, etc.

We use Netflix and never go to the movies. It is $10/month, but hubby and I enjoy choosing the movies together at home -- and watching them!

I do, if there is a movie I really want to see. It is way cheaper than the movies and more convienient (and a little cheaper) than going to rent it, especially with gas prices as high as they are.

I have never paid for a in demand movies but love to do the HBO in demand movies - best thing ever it is like renting a dvd without the hassle of going to pick it up or return it. I have thought about paying for some but right now I think I have most of the movies I want coming from the library in the next month or so anyways so I will just wait. If I couldn't put them on hold at the library I would so do the in-demand thing.

I do that from time to time. Our pay per view went up to $4.99 though. Isn't that probably the same price as renting movies?(which I don't do anymore because I thought they got too expensive) When we do go to the show its a movie thats been out for a couple of months and we go to a discount theatre. It did cost $2.50 until it recently went up to $3.50.

Our pay-per-view went up too. I never wanted to use it myself, but my husband has rented a few. Now I use netflix.

I never think to do the pay per view. I think ours is around $3.99, which I do not think is bad. I may treat myself to a movie or two per month when dh is gone and the kids are in bed. It would be a heck of alot cheaper than either renting them at the video store (gas, possible late fees) or going to the movies (gas, ticket prices, concessions). I do watch the on demand movies sometimes, but they are almost either movies I do not want to see or movies that we already own, or have seen before.
