DH and I are coming up on our 4th anniversary at the end of the month. Does anyone have any idea as for a get-a-way that is inexpensive? We live on the boarder of Western/Central PA. We're not opposed to spending the weekend at home and leaving DD with someone, but I'm afriad that if we do that we'll find things to do that's not involving the both of us (laundry, dishes, gardening, DH playing with his puppy...). I'll be starting my second trimester in about 2 weeks so I'm hoping a little "somthin somethin" will happen, but the past 10 weeks have been dead-if you know what I mean. Even at that, we can't stay in bed all weekend!

In the past, we used to just book one night at a local hotel. A nice one, with a pool, jacuzzi, hot tub. The drive would be 15 minutes. We were alone. He would get there early & put flowers/champagne/chocolates in the room. We'd go to dinner, come back, swim, hit the steam room or sauna or jacuzzi - whatever they had. Then we'd go back to the room for our alone time. Nice breakfast. And home again!

DH & I have done this as well. It was actually on a whim! We had my MIL come stay with DS and DH & I drove to the nearest neighboring town and stayed in a nice hotel (he had a free nights stay BTW!) And we had a great time!!

I'm not sure what your state parks are like, but here in TN, they are gorgeous and several of the larger ones near me (less than 2 hour drive) are very much like resorts with hotels and tons of events. Even if your state parks only have cabin rentals or something like that, often it is WAY cheaper than actually going away for a vacation.
