I'm going to have a candle party/mom's night out with about 15 women and want to know some tips on having it affordable but not tacky. It's going to be at 7pm so I need appetizers and drinks. I don't need hard alcohol or anything like that but then thought that might be more affordable to make a rum punch or something like that instead of buying individual wine coolers etc... I know I need some beer/wine also. As for food I'm thinking making my own cheese and cracker tray, fruit, maybe chips and salsa? Would costco/Sams be the best prices on these things? Anyone else have some ideas? Trying not to break the budget but still have fun.

I suggest keeping it simple. Perhaps offering red and white wine or one mixed drink of the night along with a non alcoholic choice. The cheese and cracker tray and fresh fruit sounds perfect. Perhaps a small plate of cookies/brownies to go with it.
