have you thought about one of those couple hundred dollar quick set pools for summer? we bought one a couple years ago since we have to drive 35 minutes to a pool and since we don't live in that town the season pass costs more than if we lived their. we could save the money for gas and the pool was cheaper than the pass. it only cost us $11 dollars to fill up 2500 gallons of water(call your city water dept they won't charge you sewer charges) it cost very little to maintain. so in the end we could swim whenever we wanted and saved gas money and snack money at the pool.

We've had them a couple of times and plan to again this year. We too are 'rural' and they're GREAT to have. I would think even if you weren't rural but had multiple kids, they'd be well worth it *depending of course on your fencing situations*

Yep we got one last year. Love it!! I have 5 kids and it cost $5 a pop to get into our town waterpark. I would go broke.

the city pool is across the highway from us. we can see the pool building roof from our house and its $30 for a family pass( for four people) for the summer. much cheaper for us to go there.( they also have a hot pool and a sauna too included in the pass price!)
