Last year was the first year and my kids loved it! Our church and all the churches in our area charge about $20 per kid for the week. There are a few people in my neighborhood who sign their kids up for all the VBS's in the area. We will only be doing our church and I've already signed up to lead a group. I'm looking forward to it the leaders last year were just gushing about what a great experience they had with it.

Our church doesn't charge for VBS either. The kids love it and I enjoy "working" (teaching, directing or just being an extra helper) that week, too.

DD goes to VBS at the church down the road from us. We don't attend services there but she went there for preschool for 2 years, kid's club on Wednesday nights for 2 years, and VBS for 2 years. She has a lot of friends there. She loves VBS. It is free. It runs from 6-8 for one week. I thought about finding another one in the area that is during the day, as that's when she needs the activity the most. I'm glad she enjoys it. I have very fond memories from my days in VBS.

Ours is free and my DS has it for a week in June. We don't have to sign him up for it, but if he isn't going to attend then you let the teacher know well inadvance. Ds only goes to our church for VBS.

Ours is through the Christian School here in town ~ it's a week long and it's Free. My younger 3 kids will be going. My oldest is too old, but will be a helper this summer.

My kids look forward to VBS every year! It is a week long every morning from 9-12. There is a $25 charge per child. My DD-9, and my DS-4 will attend and my oldest DD-15 will be volunteering this year.

Yes, our Catholic church offers it but the fee is around $30 (less if you volunteer). It is a morning program - about 9:00 to 12:30. DD loves it because on one day they bring in huge water slides and let the kids play. We'll probably do it again this year.

I would let DD go to a second week of VBS at a church where her best friends are members but they usually hold their VBS the same week as ours so it never works out. Since theirs is free, if DD went I'd make a small donation to help defray the cost.

My mom made us go every year when I was a kid, and I hated it. The last thing I wanted to do on my summer break was spend several hours a day at church. I swore that when I grew up, I would not do that to my kids.
When my daughter was little and my ex and I were dating, he wanted her to go to the VBS at his church, and I told him no.

We let them go the bible school at our church. It is from Sunday to Thursday from 6-8:30. They have a small meal before then go to their classes. It is free to everyone.

Our VBS is free, and the local churches don't mind if our kids tag along with their friends to all of the other VBS's. So, they actually went to 3 different ones last summer, and all were free!!
