How many times do you watch a dvd before you feel you have gotten your money's worth out of it? Do you think it is a dollar for each viewing or more or less? We always buy used kids movies (since they watch them so much).

Sometimes buying a DVD is cheaper than doing something else (like going to the movies) even if you only watch it once. We only buy new releases on sale at Walmart, and those are the types of things we'll watch many times. Otherwise we buy the $5 DVDs and watch them a few times.

We haven't rented DVDs in a long time, but we use the library and borrow from our siblings if there's something specific we want to see.
