Question Will you be taking your kids to an Easter egg hunt?

This was our frugal kid activity this weekend. To try to draw more business downtown, the town board put on an Easter egg hunt. Along with tons of candy, some eggs had coupons for money off or free items from stores around the square. I took dd and two of her friends and they had a great time.

Anyone else going to an Easter egg hunt this weekend or next weekend?

We don't go to ours ... too dangerous. Not really but my kids don't understand the mad dash to get more than someone else. We'll do our own thing at home.

Oh gosh no...LOL.

When I worked as a nanny, I swore I'd never subject my own children to a church or community easter egg 'hunt'. It was just total chaos. Obnoxious kids, obnoxious parents...no thanks! We have much more fun doing it on our own with cousins.

We are going to the neighborhood one Tuesday night - a flashlight egg hunt at dusk at the local park. I hear it's chaos, but they do have a separate section for 3 and under, so we'll try it out.

We'll have one with M's cousins on Sunday. Only 4 cousins will be in town, and she is by far the youngest, so there shouldn't be any problems.

We occasionally do a church one, but will probably stick to just the family one this year again. It is much more relaxing and they get to have fun with all their cousins. We send the older ones further out so that the little ones have a chance. Plus everyone brings so many that they tend to get PLENTY!

We just returned from an Easter egg hunt at our river club.

Tomorrow we are going the egg hunt at church.

We don't do the public hunts, there are too many rude people.

We did one this morning at one of the city's "clubs". We did this one because they have seperate egg hunts for the age groups. Both got to get their faces painted and get balloon butterflies. We also support the boy scouts as they had a pancake breakfast and I didn't have to cook breakfast!

We won't do the other "club" next weekend as it is really a mad house and I don't like it.
