I would say internet. The very few shows we do watch on T.V., we could watch on our computer.

Whats interesting is that my idea of "luxury" has changed over the last year or so...we've given up a lot of luxuries over the last year - the house cleaner being the biggest one, as well as coffees out every morning, steak for dinner once a week, milk delivery, data plans on our phones, etc.
Those were all unnessesary frivolties, I'll be the first to admit it. We live really lean now, and luxury means something completely different. Its a luxury now to be able to fill up our gas tanks, to buy steaks once a month for dinner, or to buy new jammies at Target. The one we just wont give up is internet connection - the rest we can live without (well, except for the gas in the cars).
I have to say that I am a happier person without all the luxuries - as a family we have really learned how to save, how to budget and how to have fun without spending money.

Probably Directv. High speed internet is necessary since dh works part time at home and his company pays for it. directv would be very hard to give up since we would not be able to watch the races.

Well, we don't have cable or high-speed, and I do consider TP a necessity, so I'd have to say a second car.
Since I have a car payment I must have full insurance coverage, and all that combined with gas brings the cost of my car to over $600 per month. I did check out the local bus routes so I could see if it would make sense to sell my car and use the bus for getting the kids to school, the library, the grocery, etc., and while it is doable it would be a royal PITA.
If DH got laid off, I would get rid of it. I wouldn't like it, but I could do it. I could also do without a cell phone. It's a really nice "have" item, but I would not die without it - therefore, it is disposable. So many people in the world don't even have enough to eat, so I feel blessed with whatever I *do* have.

Organized sports for my kids. It costs a bunch (fees, uniforms, gear, tournaments, fundraising, hotels, eating out with the team, etc.) but I wouldn't give it up. They love it and I love watching them love it.

I think the hardest to give up would be cable tv but I would give that up before I would give up the internet. Besides, you can watch a lot of full episodes of tv shows online.

Well we didn't have all the luxuries since I am a stay at home mom but we have given up a lot of luxuries - I spend a lot less on my hobbies and really watch what we spend on groceries. We used to go out to eat a lot more and have really cut back - we use the library for entertainment as much as possible to. I find that the more we try to save money (within reason) the happier we are -spend more time together and just enjoying life rather than stressing over how to pay for it.
I could cut back some on cable (more so than DH I think) but I need my internet but it is part of a package deal with cable and is really cheap - I would say we would cut back our package to go to the basics and save money if we had to. Cable/internet to me is pretty necessary and would be the last things we would cut - since we have already cut most other things out already. Hopefully we will never have to find out. I would cut my cell phone before either of these.

Definitely internet for my teenagers and cable for dh. I could easily go without cable but we do so much online that it would be really hard to give up.

NOT giving up my internet. Not only does it find good deals for me, it gives me an outlet when i'm stressed out.
