$125 for shoes I needed for a bride's maid outfit and the day after the wedding my aunt's dog chewed them to pieces.

Desides formal attire...
I used to drop about $300 on suits for work and $60-100 on shoes without blinking an eye, but that was a decade ago. The most I've spent in the past 3 years is $50 on a maternity winter coat last winter. It was so worth it. May wear it again this coming year or put it in the consignment shop this fall. Not sure yet.

Aside from shoes and purses, the most expensive item of clothing I've bought are jeans.
They're in the $100/200 ballpark, True Religions and Seven for all Mankind.

The most I have spent was $125 on a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans, they were worth every penny! They fit great and I wear them all the time!! I also bought UGGS @ $100-200 a pair for myself and my 2 daughters for Christmas. Well worth it.

When I was younger I bought a pair of pants and shirt (name brand which I don't remember the name of) for $100.
