Question What's the most money you've ever spent on an article of clothing?

What was it? Was it for you or someone else? Was it worth the money or would a cheaper alternative worked better?

$40 on a pair of shoes M'ija had to have for a dance class. It was worth it for her to be able to take dance, which she enjoyed, as an alternative to phys ed, which she hated.

Besides wedding attire and formal wear...

I spent $150 on a pair of Coach boots on sale. They were worth every penny and 10 years later I can still wear them, the style is classic. (plus, my feet went up 1/2 size after having ds and I can still wear them, score!)

My wedding dress and my 20-hole Doc Marten boots were both around $125.

I was going to say my beloved Coach sandals I splurged on last summer for about $115. I love them. Well, I got them out this season and wore them twice and noticed this weekend, they are splitting on the sides where the strap meets the sole. I went back into the store and they told me to bring them in and they will send them for repair. Guess they're worth the money!

$50 for jeans (and i bought two pair!). DH got them for me for Christmas 2007. not worth the money - one pair got a hole in the knees within 6 months and the other pair is almost there. i still have jeans that are more durable than those that I bought almost 10 years ago at the salvation army for $2.
