List creative ways the kids can play with liter pop bottles

-Driveway bowling by filling them up halfway and setting them up like bowling pins.
-Ring toss
-Collection discovery bottles. For instance fill 1/3 full with water, 1/3 full with vegetable oil. Add some glitter and shake.

Make a tornado with 2 2liter's, a piece or carboard cut to the size of the bottle opening with a hole in the center , duct tape and water. Just fill one bottle 3/4's of the way with waterput the carboard over the opening, then the other bottle opening on top and tape it together so it wont leak out. Flip the full side to the top and rotate it in a circle. It will create a tornado!

-An article I found-(need to find again) shows/tells how to make a decomposing station out of a liter bottle, layer sand, dirt, PLASTIC, food and other ingredients, teaching the children what does and doesn't decompose.

I will have to find the article tomorrow and give more BETTER details.

We already do the driveway bowling, but a ring toss sounds cool. I'll have to try that one too. What did you use for the rings?

You could make an I-spy game, by filling it with rice and a little trinket toys. Might work better with a smaller bottle.

I have used lighter weight bracelets I've found at Claire's.

My 8 yr old DS just came up with a pontoon boat of sorts that he made with 2 2 liter bottles as the pontoons. He used other items from our recycling to finish it off. He was thrilled to sail it in a neighbors pool. It floats really well!

We've used them in a variety of ways. I cut the tops off and wrap the edges (to make them safe). We've used them to make "vases" for homemade flowers. We've also used them to hold paint and rinse water for craft projects. The tops then can be used for funnels for outdoor and other craft projects. The tops have actually been used for nosecones for rockets - a hobby of ours.
