How do you keep in touch with people who are long distance to you?

I use primarily email or facebook as my means of communication. I do call occasionally but it has to be after 7pm on my cell.

I'm more old school...I have a few friends where we actually write letters back and forth. It's nice I think. I like it! Other friends we call back and forth - some I talk to every week, and some it's every few weeks or every few months. There are a few folks that I email with, but that method is the minority.
