Do you guys have a lot of money in emergency savings? I have a few thousand dollars...and owe $6000 on a car and some unpaid medical bills....hoping to pay that off in March with a bonus and tax return.......and then rebuild my savings.....(which was depleted after adopting my little girl from China two years ago but worth every penny!!)

I do save about 6% in a 401k plan now...

I was surprsed how quickly the savings goes. We had a little (and I mean very little) and it is gone and we are behind on bills now. They changed the pay structure at dh's job and now we are short $400 a month every month. I wish we had saved more!
