This year I am planning on doing a Christmas in July week with the girls. We will watch Christmas movies, decorate the house (at least the living room) and the biggest thing I want to do is knock out those home made Christmas presents we typically make months in advance (and maybe get a little bit more peace during Christmas time!).

Next summer check the website kidsbowlfree.com. See if your local bowling allley is on there and when you sign up, the kids (up to 17) get to bowl 2 free games a day. This summer it is good until Sept. 6.

Great ideas in this thread!

One of our favorite "frugal" family activities is to have an indoor picnic (blanket & all) right on the living room floor...the girls love finger sandwiches, fruit with yogurt dip, paper plates make clean-up easy.

We have Movie Nights as a family.

In the summer we love to spend Saturday mornings going to yard/garage sales. My girls are given a minimal amount of money (usually a $1). When we get home they must donate a toy if they bought something. Servers *many* purposes -- recycles & reuses.

Also try your nearest city parks (usually the bigger ones) they have alot of spring and summer functions and will add you to their email alerts. I ALWAYS check Ebay for great deals on tickets too. I actually just purchase 2 FREE adults admissions to the zoo for 6 bucks!!! Which normally would of cost me 20. I love it when I save $$.....
