Does anyone else think it would be nice to have a sticky thread about fun/frugal family fun and activities?

i think that would be a great idea cuz I am always trying to find stuff to do that won't break the bank! I have one idea sign up for your local bowling alley I just did that and they e-mail me with cupons all the time $1.00 for a game with up to 5 people perfect! Our alley too is smoke free!

Ooh good idea!

A lot of malls have free play areas - even better if you pair it with shopping instead of an additional trip.

Entertaining at home is great for family fun. Whether its morning coffee with another mom, an after school playdate, or having another family over for pizza on the weekend, entertaining at home is a great way to socialize for not much money.

This is a great idea. We regularly do in home playdates w/my playgroup. Most of the time we do potluck - so the hostess doesn't have to foot the bill for all the food/drinks.

We do the drive-in a lot during the nice weather. Sometimes we bring dinner or sometimes we stop and get take out. But it's only $6 per adult here and the kids get in free!

I know that my kids love to go fishing, they don't actually do too much fishing, but love it when me or their dad catches one. My kids are all under five so we did have to fork up a little bit of money the first time on life jackets, but now it doesn't cost, but for the adults' fishing licenses for the season and gas to get to the lake. It's a great day with the family.

This is a great way to save money for everyone. We usually do these things too for Mardi Gras, Easter and the Fourth.

I thought about when you said go fly a kite and you really don't see many kids doing activities like this anymore. Not like when I was younger anyway.
