I went to the pregnancy center in our town last week. They offer baby equipment and clothes. Well, I didn't know you can get a free pack of 24 diapers every week. They are off brand but my daughter can use them. This will save us $$$ for sure. Anyone else have a center like this in their town? It is Christian based.

We have soething similar. Mine are actually pro-life clinics. I know they give free items but I thought it was a one time thing. The one by me is called Wakota Life Care Center. Not sure if they have same name statewide. If I had know what it was I would have gone there when dh was unemployed. free doctor visits and supplies. I even found out my regular doc volunteers there.

This is also a Pro-Life Christian based program. They are there to help with some needs so that women do not feel alone and will choose to have their baby and be able to provide for it.
I think these are good programs to have everywhere.

That sounds like a good program also. I wish I would have known about the free diapers I thought this was a one time thing also but it is once a week.

I wish I had something like that in my area! If I didn't have to pay for diapers and daycare, we'd be okay!

We also have a place called DHS ( Department Of Human Services) which will help pay for child care if you don't make too much. They also may help with food stamps.

we have a center like that here where you can get diapers, pull-ups, wipes and formula 4 times a year. when you need it, you just call them. they also have a program where you do pamphlets and earn baby bucks that you can use in their "store" for baby clothes, bottles, baby equipment, etc. I got my sons stroller there for nothing but about 10 minutes of my time

Some cities have different names for their programs. Around here they are called B.A.B.E. stores, Helping Hands, or Little Lambs. I serve on the board of directors for our local program, called Precious Rewards. We receive grant/donation money to stock the program because there was a high infant mortality rate and teen pregnancy rate in our county. The program is income irrelevant, so anyone can participate.

Expecting parents and babies up to age two can earn vouchers for such things as prenatal visits, well-child visits, immunizations, support groups, breastfeeeding, immunizations, etc. Each visit earns them one voucher. Each voucher is worth $5. They can then "shop" in our store using the vouchers to earn practically anything baby-related (except food).

Some families have saved enough to get an entire room of baby furniture! We've seen excellent results from the program, and it rewards all in the county who make responsible decisions with their babies.
