I've sold and given stuff away on craigslist. I always get tons of responses.

Like the others suggested, include pictures and try to use a junk email.

I always list "cash only" and "price firm".

You can meet in a neutral location if that would make you feel safer. I always have my DH handle the transactions.

Good luck!!

My husband and I love Craigslist. I had always wanted to sell stuff on ebay but I didn't want to pay for it so this is nice because I don't have to pay to list anything. I always put pictures on there because I won't buy anything that doesn't have a picture so I know there are people out there like me too. I usually start a listing on there for maybe $5 more than what I think it is worth because since it is free to list I can always re-list it later for a lower price if no one buys it the first time. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for the info. We just got a craigslist here and wasn't sure about it. Sounds like you have all had good experiences.

i love craigslist

i check out weekly what people put on there in my area.

i recently (like in the last month) tried to buy a car off of craigslist. i DO NOT suggest doing this... i didn't end up giving the person money or even begin the transaction... but it turned out the car was stolen!!!! so just use good judgement!

Also when you meet up with someone to buy or sell make sure there are other Adults with you!! or meet up at a public place!!

recently in MN here we had a girl going for a babysitting job and she was killed!!
Craigslist is a great thing just use common sense!!

I've sold lots of stuff on Craigs-
From small to big ticket items and we've always been successful.
I'd say to put lots of pictures and try to make your description short and sweet.
I never put my phone # or any type of additional contact info, except for maybe an email addy.
I bought my dog a house on there for $10 bucks in great shape.
We sold our 32ft travel trailer on there, so anything pretty much goes!
