How about a lego. Just take a large cardboard box and large butter tubs. Just spray paint them whatever color you want. Cut holes for arms and legs, then just glue on 4 or 6 buter tubs like a lego. Use a butter container with string as a hat if you wanted to.

When I was young my best friend and I went as a pair of dice. My mom sold Home Interiors so she always had the big shipping boxes around. Just cut a hole for the head and arms, paint them white and then paint on the black dots for dice. It was really cute.

We also did the clear bag filled with small balloons and went as a bag of jelly beans. Very inexpensive.

This year I was thinking of suggesting to my daughter that she be a gypsy. It is an easy costume to put together. She has pretty skirts she can wear. That with a pretty glittery top, some boots and many of my accessories (big hoop earrings, necklaces, bracelets), I think would do the trick. She is a tween also, so the fact that I would let her put on make-up topped with glitter, I am sure she would love. A bandana for her hair, and voila!

As for my son, something as simple as wearing one of his jerseys. He could be a sports player. He still has his football jersey from when he was on the team. I could just put black liner under his eyes.

My 2 year old daugther, I am sure would love to follow suit with her older sister, so a mini gypsy, sounds good to me.

My son will be turning one the day before Halloween. He will probably just wear some kind of jammies. Then I will attach some kind of fussy material to make a tail and make some ears. I'm just not sure what exactly yet. Babies are easy though. So much can be done with Pajamas.

My 7 month is going as Superman since he has such a perfectly placed superman curl...

Red and yellow felt for the Superman logo, belt and red bottoms. Red socks for boots. The cape is cut off of an old Winnie the Pooh feely toy. Glue everything w/ fabric glue and hand stitch the cape on the onesie.
