1. Breastfeed if you can.
2. I would use Target brand diapers during the day and Pampers at night.
3. Make your own baby food (freeze in an ice cube tray, then pop them out, place in freezer bags.
4. If you use formula contact the company and register on their site---they will usually send you coupons.
5. Register with Gerber to get coupons from them as well.
6. During the first year they grow so fast so don't spend lots on clothes. We ended up with outfits that were never worn.

1. Have friends and family sign up for the formula sites ... they will get coupons as well.
2. See if you can borrow things from friends and family (especially infant clothes).
3. Do not feel like you need to keep up with the Jones's ..... I bought alot of my big bulky toddler toys at yard sales.
4. Rotate toys ..... put some away and then 1-2 months later rotate. Your kiddos will feel like they have new toys but they just haven't seen them in a while.

I use cloth diapers when at home - and only diapers when we go out.

Sign up for WIC
Onesies at Once Upon A Child are only 50 cents and look brand new
Check yardsales and Freecycle
Watch the clearance shelf at Walmart. Ours will mark brand name diapers way down if the package has been torn open.
Big Lots has lots of baby things and are really inexpensive.

Garage Sales! I never shopped garage sales before baby and wow what a huge savings. We bought our changing table for $5.00, Baby bjorn for $10.00 and many clothes. Babies grow so fast I've purchased many outfits with tags still on for pennies on the dollar.

Comparison shop prices on formula and diapers between stores. I found several dollars difference between them. Sam's club if you can afford to buy in bulk. I compared and without my coupons it was a few cents cheaper. (The only downside is I'm afraid he will outgrow the diapers before I finish the pack. That happened with a smaller pack of diapers.)

Parent's Choice (Wal-Mart brand) diapers! They are wonderful and so much cheaper.

And don't be afraid to ask friends and family to sign up for coupons and freebies for you - the worst they can do is say no!

Sam's club is our money saver for formula and diapers.
When the twins come, I'll be nursing- which will save HUGE amounts of money
make your own baby food- we did with both DD's and plan to with Noah and the twins
We love once upon a Child. (second hand store) the clothing there is in GREAT shape and CHEAP!
E-mail Johnson & Johnson and ask them for coupons. I sent them an e-mail and I got one $5.00 off any product and got 3 more $1.00 off ones. E-mail any and every company and you'll probably get good coupons.

  1. Breastfeed.
  2. Use baby-led solids or make your own babyfood.
  3. Cloth diaper or use Elimination Communication.
  4. Don't buy every baby gadget there is.
  5. Buy used when you can.
  6. Sell it all back through a second-hand shop or Ebay.
