NOW this is great! No need to purchase one of those expensive ones from the store.

Dh dug a shallow, wide hole in our back yard and lines it with rocks. Its our new Fire Pit! And this thing has gotten quite a work out already. We use it almost every night. The past 3 nights we have roasted marshmallows over it and the kids really enjoy that.

Its nice because it increases our family time after a long hectic day. There is no tv, just our conversation. Plus the heat of the fire keeps us warm, I just wear a sweater if its REALLY cold out there.

Dh also bought some grates to put over the top of the fire pit for cooking. SO we are not using propane from our grill either, just all natural heat from the fire and the rocks. All it took was a few hours of his time, and collecting rocks from the stone wall that divides the property.
