If you have space in your backyard to have a garden - then do it.
I grow tomatoes, chilies, strawberries and we have a mini lemon tree.
I dont have much room for alot (wish I did)
Growing your own garden is lots of fun and get your kids involved and show them how things grow. My son enjoy seeing how things grow. He especially loves the strawberries.

I once grew cucumbers, green onions and had an herb garden. It saves you lots of money especially if you use seeds. I generally go with the seedlings.
