If you have girl friends who are hair dressers , manicurists, massage therapists, estheticians , etc. Bardering is the best way to save money in these area's and if you don't have girlfriends but have people that you go to on a regular basis then find out about them, if there is anything in the way of needs that you may be able to help them out with as a way of bardering . I save a fortune by doing this. I am a hair dresser so I barder with my nail lady and esthetitian, and massage therapist for their services in return I do their hair. My nieghbor is a contractor and in exchange for his services I do hair for all their family members, and when I need a babysitter same goes.

You would be suprised what people are willing to trade! If you have spare time you could watch your hairdresser's child for a day or two for getting your hair cut, or a few more days for color . You could offer to clean your tanning salon 2 days a week for free tanning. You could even offer to clean house for some one in exchange for services. There are alot of people who need these services but can't afford to pay for them , and bardering is in most cases the best way to get it for both parties!!!!

And for those of you who do know these kinds of people who do these services, hook up your girl friends who don't , or ask your hairdresser or whomever it is that you have connectiond with , if you had a private party at your house would they be willing to come and perform their services for a cheaper rate, and if you offer to have it paid in cash they will because it's extra $ they would not otherwise have.

I only go to friends for hair stuff - I have two to go to, depending on who is available. They don't charge me anything for a trim, and if I want color, we go to Sally's Beauty together, they pick what products they want, I buy it, and I pay them $45 for color - that's for foil high lights and some lowlights. Pretty good price - they are both licensed and work in salons, but, they get all the cash if we do it when they are home. Plus I don't have to go to a salon, we can take our time and chat, and it's pretty relaxing!

A lot of folks in my area are unemployed or make very little, so bartering goes a long way. DH is a tree trimmer, so he barters his services for "stuff" - more equipment, whatever. I'm getting into taxidermy, and I've bartered my way into practice animals/fish and have gotten a stand and some equipment already.

I also gave a loan to a friend who's dog was hit by a car, the dog is ok, but had a hefty vet bill. She is paying me back, but she is also giving me lots of maternity clothes and baby stuff on top of the money.

That is a pretty good price. It is good to know that you have good girl friends and share the love. We girls gotta stick together!!!!!!
