1. Go to a beauty school for great prices. Most places have an instructor right there watching.
2. Buy clippers and cut your kids hair---or your own---I'm not brave enough.
3. Look for coupons
4. Try places like Cost Cutters that are cheaper than other salons.

Beware about getting a perm at the beauty schools - they messed up my moms hair.
I personally would prefer a professional to give me a perm. Even though it costs more.

This may not work in your town, but my friend told me that at ours the best time to get your hair done at a beauty school is during the day(during the week). The more experienced ones work during the day. And they are being taught all the latest styles and tricks.

Oh, and I save money by not getting haircuts. LOL. I am really bad about going in for a trim. It seems I get my hair cut once a year. I am really trying to get it cut more often. I just never know what style to pick. And the cost to color my hair at the salon is way too much.

I just posted last night about getting my hair done at a barber shop. The ladies do a fantastic job for $14. This time I got a color & cut for $30 plus tip!

A friend of mine told me today she paid $48 plus tip.......

That price is about right in this neck of the woods, too. One way to save is to skip the blow dry and just go in for the cut...

I always go to the Hair Cuttery. I can get a haircut for $14! They are great there. Also I highlight my own hair.
