I use Trget brand diapers during the day and Pampers at night. I figure pampers might hold more but I sure that they are fine for both. Never had any problems. My niece used Parents choice formula after her acid reflux calmed down no problem. But i have to say if you want to save money breast feeding is the cheapest and it saves on doctor bills later. I watched a classroom of infants half breast feed other half formula the breastfeed babies were sick half of the time that the formula feed were. just saying good luck

BJ's brand diapers currently. I liked CVS, Target, and Parents Choice also in the past although the last few bags of Target brand diapers I used I wasn't happy with at all. We use Luvs at night.

All formula is the same (with the exception of soy, extra iron, etc) By law it must be FDA regulated.so weather it is Enfamil or Parents Choice it MUST meet FDA regulations. My kids both started out on Similac and then went to Target brand,...there was absolutly no difference except in the price.

I find it kind of funny when people would question if walmart formula was Really ok/ As if I was taking a Real chance, by giving it to my baby!

Of course its fda regulated and if you read the cans they are identical in ingredients!
The only difference is the price!!
I started DS out on similac advance -
At about 12 weeks he went to parents choice dha/ara

I think alot of ppl. use that though cause about every other time I went to buy it - The shelf was empty.

The diapers depend on the baby
DD1 - pampers ONLY

DS1- Huggies For him ONLY
DD2- ANY DIAPER would do!!

DS2 - Anything till size 4 then Huggies surpreme or pampers cruisers ONLY

We've had really good luck with Costco diapers, we just use the store brands as an emergency back up. I'm pretty happy with the Costco diapers and I love the wipes, they aren't too sudsy and work well. I haven't bought a name brand diaper since the first few months when we used pampers swaddlers incase of skin irritation, we have very sensitive skin in our family. (we also use cloth when we're home, major money saver)

We also used the Costco formula. You can't beat $20 for two cans. When we asked the doctor, she said that the discount/store brands are often made by the same formula companies as the name brands, thay just slap a different label on it. Just check for iron and DHA/ARA. I wasn't happy about using formula after my son had a hard time, so expensive, so $40/month made it a little easier.

I have 1 boy and 1 girl - after they were out of Size 1 - I have always bought generics and been happy. However, when they were really young and woke up drenched - they would leak. So, I did buy nightime huggies for a while. I have gotten both WalMart, Meijer and Rite Aid brands with no real difference. Even if I had coupons for the good diapers - the generic was cheaper.

As for formula - no luck. My kids were both on special formulas. But, I did buy coupons on ebay and that helped!

I live a few hours away from target so I havn't tried them yet... but plan to on my next trip. This is my first baby so I have been cautious about switching brands because I have very sensitive skin and wasn't sure how she'd do.

I have tried Huggies, Pampers swaddlers, baby dry, and cruisers, parents choice, and luvs. I like the fit of pampers best. My favorite is the swaddlers, second favorite is cruisers. They both have the same inside and seem to hold better.

Pampers baby dry has an inside like luvs but a different fit. I have never had a problem with luvs during the day... never tried them at night because my baby sleept through pretty early on and was afraid they would leak. I have found that Luvs are roomier than Pampers so Lena is in a smaller sive of luvs than pampers most of the time but hey... there is more in the smaller size pack anyways.

I thought parents choice was fine but didn't fit well and my baby had a hard time with rashes on this diaper. I have been told that they changed them recently by another mom and that she doesn't think they hold well anymore. But that is her oppinion.

We didn't think that huggies fit well and I always had a leaking diaper with this brand. I change my baby at least every two to three hours unless I know she needs it sooner so there is pretty much no excuse for them to leak in that amount of time. When I say leak with huggies brand I don't mean pee. My baby was breast fed so I had to be careful. I also found that most packs of huggies usually had less diapers than pampers for the same size. I have also been told that huggies are better for boys than girls. Maybe it's true, maybe not. At the time I didn't realize that huggies has 3 different kinds kind of like pampers... so I am planning on trying the other ones soon.

I have been told from at least 5 moms that Target is the way to go... and I guess that they have coupons for that brand too, so I plan to try them.

I just look for the best diaper deal (on pampers and luvs because they are my favorite- and like another mom wrote, I don't have to wash so much clothes) and really stock up. JMO.

AS FOR FORMULA
I breast fed until my baby was 8.5 months and she refused to keep at it. apparently she had better things to do. That is cheapest. Only real purchase is a few good nursing bras. When I had to switch to formula I tried: Goodstart (which I guess used to be carnation but is now nestle... and made by the same makers of enfamil from what I've been told), Similac, enfamil lipil, and parents choice.
If you read the ingredients label you will find that both parents choice and target brand has a kind that is exactly the same as enfamil lipil (which is closest to breastmilk).

My daughter hated similac and if you smell it you'll know why. It smells like really strong vitamins (and call me weird, but i tasted it and I think it tastes like a liquid form of prenatal vitamins-yuck!)

I then went to goodstart... she liked that a little better but it made her spit up. Cheaper than enfamil though.

Then I tried enfamil lipil which smells more like the powdered creamer. So it doesn't taste like vitamins but it still has a ton in there. She took it right away. The powder was more fine than goodstart and the formula was whiter that similac and goodstart which is nice if you have a baby that spits up a lot because the spit up doesn't smell as bad and doesn't stain their clothes as often. But it is expensive.

Parents Choice has the same ingredients, but must taste diiferent because my daughter won't take it straight. It also has a heavier, more damp texture than enfamil.

What I do is put half parents choice and half enfamil in her bottles to make the parents choice taste better. I am not skimping on the vitamins but she'll drink it when she won't take straight parents choice. Also if you put formula in your babies cereal you could use just the parents choice... My baby likes cereal best with plain water but for babies who like it with formula that would help save some money. It saves me quite a bit of money that way.
You could probably do the same with Target and target sends out coupons for theirs... I just havn't got around to trying it yet. Like I said, I live a ways away from Target.

This is just my opinion but I hope it helps.

That if your baby isn't used to breastmilk you could probably just start them on any formula and it wouldn't matter how strong the taste is because they won't know what the other stuff tastes like.
I know if any of my babies reject nursing from the beginning i would probably just start them right on parents choice or target brand.
Also when trying other formulas you should pay attention to your babies mood and diapers. They may have a hard time with gas or constipation on some brands but not others.

I use Luvs or Pampers. I recently tried White Cloud and Parents Choice and we had more wet clothes than we did when he was a baby. So I've decided that Luvs is the better deal for us.

Every baby is different. For my ds, Target Brand & White Cloud are great. Luv's are also great (been using those when I bought a lot when Target had those web coupons SO cheap) Anyway, my SIL hated Target Brand, but White Cloud & Parent's Choice worked great for her. Parent's Choice leaked immediately with my son.

Go ahead and try different store brands until you find one that you like. They'll give you a refund if they didn't work. I just called the Parent's Choice 1800 # and they sent me a refund check for them. Just keep the packaging for the pack # identification.

Around here, Target Brand & Parents Choice are cheapest, White cloud following not too far behind

CONGRATS!
