We use only pampers and cut corners elsewhere. There are also coupons in the package. I tried Target brand and used 5 diapers before I noticed DS was leaking and getting red marks from where it rubbed. I was prepared to cut our losses but my mom took them back and just explained what had happened. They were more than willing to take a return with what was left in the package without a receipt. Gotta love Target.

My daughter is 5, so we are way past the diaper stage, but I just had to post.
When my daughter was born, my now ex was in the army and I found out that White Cloud diapers work wonders! (They also make toilet paper). I was worried about them working and we had no probs with them!!!! We tried the Dry Bottoms and needless to say, they are anything BUT!!!! Hope this helps!

I ran out of diapers at my MILs house and ran to Walgreens and bought their generic. They were the worst!! They leak and they don't even stay Velcroed. Half the time I go to change her diaper it is already hanging off. LUVs works good for my son since he was about one, but I really just prefer to spend the money on Pampers for my newborn, nothing is better than the Swaddlers that I have tried.

We switched my son from breast milk to formula at 5 months and used the Target brand. It was great and half the price of name brand.

Question: Do any of the generic diapers mentioned here have elastic waist tabs??

My daughter cant use luvs, she breaks out on her rear where the elastic bands are on the inside. I love Pampers the best. I like Huggies too, but the lower edge of the tabs cut into her legs.

I love Target brand. Unfortunately we have no Target within 2 hours of here. I try to stock up when we go there. In between times I use Luvs or WhiteCloud. In order of preference, I'd have to say it's Luvs, Target, White Cloud. Parent's Choice brand sucks in my opinion.

Switched to Target brand formula after about 3 months of using Similac Advance. So excited by the fact that it was $10 cheaper and my daughter tolerated it well. Had a friend recently with a newborn who is now using the Target brand formula as well. Such a huge difference in price! As for generic diapers, don't buy the Giant Eagle brand (if you have that grocery store by you). They leak and half of the tabs fall off before the diaper is even on!

Hi-this tip is from the baby bargins book-keep a roll of duct tape in your changing table so when the tabs come off, you can just tape it back on. It's better than wasting 20 cents every time!

I used to be a diehard fan of Target's diapers, but a recent diaper blowout phase got me to spring for Huggies Supreme. I keep my fourteen month old daughter in the Huggies overnight and keep changing the Huggies until she has a bowel movement then chance the Target diapers for a few rounds. Saves a little bit of money on the diapers and lots of money on Tide and Biz for her soiled clothes--not to mention the wear and tear on my washing machine! The Especially for Baby (at Babies R Us and Toys R Us) Supreme diapers are pretty good, but you have to catch them at the sale price--only a few times a year. Huggies coupons and sales are easy to find.

We have tried LOTS of diapers over the years with 3 boys.

I have never liked how Pampers fit (and one of my boys would get a rash from them if he wore them at night.)

Huggies (regular, not the fancy Supreme or anything like that,,,) have always been GREAT for us. They hold like a GALLON of pee - sometimes DH and I make each other HOLD the diaper to see how heavy it is after the first change of the morning. DS is 2 1/2 and drinks a lot of water at night, so he's always got a FULL diaper in the a.m. DH and I are always impressed with what those things can hold!!!! As for leaks, if your kid has diahhrea, ANY diaper is going to leak a little around the edges. Huggies have always worked for us. We buy them at Costco

Costco Brand (Kirkland) has never disappointed us. They are basically Huggies, but perhaps a tiny bit lower quality. We used to use Huggies in the day, Costco at night, but Costco holds up basically just as well as Huggies.

Grocery Store Brands - DH will never bring these home again after our many issues over these. What terrible diapers. I think the worst part of these ( and with Pampers, regular) is that the tabs are so stiff and scratchy. They can really gouge / cut up a baby's tender skin if they are sitting and the sharp, poky corner of the tab is poking into them. OUCH. I just won't put these on my kids anymore.

So, it's either Costco (Kirkland Brand) or Huggies for us.

p,s, I also use cloth when I'm home for an extended period. Oh, and I hven't tried them yet, but for the new baby (due 12/7) I bought some of the chlorine-free enviro-friendly diapers to give them a whirl. We'll see!
