How many people have memberships to zoos, museums, science stations, etc? Do you find it is a good way to save money when visiting these places?

Definately...we belong to the zoo and even though my kids are older (10 and 13), we still go plenty enough times to more than make the membership worth it. I love using it at other zoos across the country, and getting in free or for a % off the admission price.

We also belong to our Natural History Museum and again, you just have to figure out...how many times will you go in a year, it will be worth it? If you only go once a year - then it won't be worth it...kwim?

We don't belong to our Science Museum, because we just don't go enough to make it worthwhile.

I do not have a membership to the Zoo, or the Science center or the museums.
The Zoo is free, the children's zoo, the carousel, the train are not. But at least 1 out of 2 times I go there we find railroad train tickets on the ground, in the gift shop (they used three out of the four they bought).

And the children's zoo and carousel are free the first hour.. (we are morning people). At the children's zoo they DO NOT kick you at after one hour..

And the science center here is free also. Except for the movies which we rarely see. (Saw a movie twice, I paid once, took my sister)

We don't have one right now. We are debating on getting a membership to the zoo. This is the first time we have lived close to a zoo. I just don't know if we will go that often? We are thinking of seeing how much we go this spring and summer and then decide if we want a membership next year.

We currently don't have any of those, but both my kids are teenagers in HS. When my children were preschool/elementary/middle school, we ALWAYS had at least one membership but usually several at a time. We would even ask for family memberships to the zoo, children's museum, etc as Christmas gifts. We have a nice zoo, a world class Children's Museum, etc here, and there was a Science Museum, the Frazier History Museum (very cool medieval armor and live jousting and sword fights...boy stuff) and zoo we also belonged to in Louisville near my parents home.

I think they're great money savers and and a really fun and educational outing for the family. Highly recommend them!!

We live in a small town, it would be too far to make a memebership worth it for us.

We have a membership to the Cincinnati Zoo. But it was a gift to our family from my Dad & Step-Mom. I think it's great for us now because it's about a half hour drive and Riley is at the age where he is getting interested in animals.
