one of their favorites was to read Dr. Seuss' Bartholwmew (sp??) and the Oobleck and then make the Ooblek. It is about 2 or 3 parts corn starch to one part water. It is sooooooo cool! I love to play with it too. It is sort of a solid, sort of a liquid....forget what t is called when it is like that. Anyway it runs, but gets hard...really neat stuff. I will only do it outside though because it is MESSY. Easy to hose away nd not unfriendly to the environment, just messy.
Also after you have done it Google it and show the kids some cool stuff grown ups ave done woth it. Like filling a kiddie pool or lap pool with it etc. It is good for an hour or more and a lot of laughs..

One year we made our own board game. We picked Monopoly with an animals theme. Everyone did their own part of the board and we put it together to make one big board. They had old animal toys to move from space to space. We also made the cards and everything that goes to Monopoly. It took all day to make and all not to play. We still have it.
