Depending on your car seats DOB you should have gotten a recall kit KASENSMOMMA. Please visit Britax : Safety is Always in Fashion ® this site and type in information OFF the carseat...

I have two Evenflo Triumph 5's which I love (inexpensive, but rated very well by Consumer Reports, even compared to Britax). The new Evenflo Triumph Advance will allow you to keep a child rear facing until 35 pounds and forward facing in a 5 point harness until 50 pounds.

My 4 year old did outgrow his Triumph 5 last fall (I have the older model which is only for up to 40 pounds and 40 inches) so we invested in a Sunshine Kids Radian 65 carseat. This will keep him in a 5 point harness for up to 65 pounds. It is cheaper than most Britax seats (at $200), has a steel frame, and has done very well on crash tests. Sunshine Kids is a smaller company so they're not as easy to find as Britax, but they are available (Comfort First has free shipping on theirs). I have heard that they can be difficult to install correctly rear facing (not an issue for us since my son is 4 1/2) but it can be done. I have no complaints about it so far at all.

I forgot to mention that the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX starts at about $150 for the base model and goes up to about $200 for the cushier models.

I have two convertible car seats, the evenflo triumph and the evenflo titan. They are both highly rated car seats with consumer reports. I paid $119.00 for the triumph (that was after using a 15% off any item coupon at babies r us) and $89.99 for the titan which was on sale at target. The triumph has more bells and whistles and is really easy to adjust as the straps slide to fit the shoulders perfectly. Both of these seats are for children up to 50 pounds so I figure I can use them for quite some time. My daughter is really comfy in both seats and I would rate both of them a great purchase. I did a ton a research before purchasing them and feel very confident in the safety ratings of both.

I had to buy two seats because at the time both DH and I worked full time and it was too much of a pain to have one of us drop off DD and the other pick her up. I may have gone with the Britax if I only had to buy just one seat, but spending over $400.00 was not an option for us. Truly though, I am very happy with the evenflo car seats especially the triumph.

Both my kids (age 3 and 1) are safe and snug in their Britax Marathons. Like another Mommy already said, you can't put a price on your child's safety. Also the Britax carseats are FAA approved (many car seats are not FAA approved) so you can take it on planes and trains.

I got my son's Marathon through Ebay. Then I got my daughters through Target when they had a sale last year.

Check out the reviews for carseats at ConsumerReports.org - Find Product Reviews and Ratings from Consumer Reports

We have all Britax seats as well...just moved my 6 year old out of the Marthon. If you need a cheaper seat Fisher price makes the cheaper version of the Marathon....It is a great seat. One main reason it is so good is that you can harness past 40 lbs. MAny folks put their 3 yo in booster unknowing that they are safest in a 5 pt harness until age (less brain damage if they should get into an accident. Also many kids aren't sitting correctly in booster...they shouldn't ever lean forward or what is the point of side impact protection and head wings. Also...please only look at Consumer reports for idas...but NEVER use it as a guide for carseats...There was a whole retraction of their carseat reviews. I have found the best info from the carseat techs on this site...great info on the forums!

Also a good thread as to why carseat experts don't always agree with consumer reports! Why do you guys have such differnt info from consumer reports? - Car Seat.Org - Carseat, Vehicle & Child Passenger Safety Forums
