We really dont throw food away unless we forget it is there. We rarely have leftovers and when we do we almost always eat them for lunch the next day. I HATE wasting food.

We throw away very little food. I knew what it was to be hungry growing up, so my family will eat leftovers or they will do without. We may have them for lunch or I will make something different with them, but they get eaten.

I just about never throw away anything. It really bothers me to waste food, gores me actually! If I think something won't get used, it goes into the freezer till I can decide what to do with it. I also give things to my cousin, she has 4 kids and will take anything, even if it's a half loaf of bread or something. If I have scraps or anything left on my kids plates that's not really a serving, just a few bites, I either throw it out in the yard for the birds to eat, or the family of feral cats that hang out nearby. At least this way, someone is eating it.

I throw out way more than I would like. Everytime I clean out the fridge, I think to myself "why dont I just throw my money into the garbage can?!" My DH will sometimes take leftovers for lunch, but not all the time. My DD does not care for too much leftovers. I try to fix smaller amts, but does not always work, like with casseroles. I would like to put lefovers in freezer, but we have a small freezer and no room in there. When I go to visit my dad I take him lefovers, if they have not been "sitting around" for too long. He likes our leftovers. I am just creating more dishes for myself to wash as I throw out the food. HATE it!!!

Thank you for the reminder. I like to think that I'm good and that I don't throw out food but i'm not really. Sometimes I don't plan well or I'm just not realistic in the quantity of food I buy or I make. I need to work on this. Thanks again.

I try not to waste anything, but fall short sometimes. Cooked leftovers almost always get eaten, but fresh produce sometimes slips past me. I hate it when that happens! I'm making an effort lately to stay on top of things and if something is getting within a few days of its end, chop it up and stick it in the freezer; at least maybe it will be used in soup that way. Lettuce and bagged salad are still sticking points, though; can't freeze those.
