I don't throw away leftover coffee.. I drink it the next day!!! I might even add half cup of water to the already there grounds to "freshen it up" a little. I can't tell the difference. I got this idea after watching a movie. One guy asked how old the coffee was and the other guy answered, "Just a couple of days old. I don't drink it passed a week!".. I couldn't believe it so I tried it. I only do one day old at most.

Leftover veg and meats get put into a homemade pizza or a casserole.

If the meal is big enough, I'll freeze half of it for another time or at least a serving of it to cut down on leftovers. DH doesn't like leftovers very often so the kids and I get stuck eating it.

If I have hard boiled eggs that need to be used, sometimes I'll decide to make creamed tuna or chicken over rice, noodless, toast, or biscuits, and add in hard boiled eggs, and use less meat because there's more protein. You can even just serve creamed hard boiled eggs over toast. Add in peas for a veggie.

I also sometimes make cobb salad when I need to use up hard boiled eggs.

I do this too! Except I put it in the fridge for the next day and have iced coffee!

I too just reheat our leftovers for lunch or if there is enough I freeze it right away for another meal or freeze it into individual portions for quick grabs.

I'm also very guilty of making what I call my "Everything Including the Kitchen Sink Crock Pot Soup" out of meats and veggies that I have in the fridge that are about to be tossed. I literally take whichever soup stock I have out of the freezer, chuck it into the crock, raid fridge and pantry (sometimes I will unload my canned and/ or frozen veggies that have been kicking around for a bit along with anything "fresh"), add whatever spices I'm in the mood for and let cook all day. I have NEVER had this soup turn out poorly and yes I would totally serve this soup to guests!!!!!!

Leftovers?? I wish we had some. Sometimes I make extra for "planned" leftovers. Rice is actually better in stir fry if it has been cooked earlier and reheated. It can be frozen also. We freeze bananas for smoothies. Bread for bread crumbs on top of baked mac and cheese. Watermelon rinds are saved to make watermelon rind pickles. MMM

Plan meals so that one leads into another. Sloppy joes can lead into spaghetti or chili, chili can lead into chili mac. Leftover rice, barley, pasta, or vegetables can be made into soup or stew, as can any meat scraps. Baked or boiled potatoes can be fried, put in soup or stew, or turned into au gratin. Leftover vegetables can be made into stir fries. There are lots of possibilities.

Yeah that's right. Don't throw away your leftover food and use it for another meal instead if it is still safe to eat. Because sometimes If your family is having more than 4 meals in a day and having a leftover every meal and just throwing it away, you almost throwing away your food for the next whole day meal.

i'm also a fan of cooking more on purpose so I have leftovers, especially for lunches.
also when i'm chopping something for one recipe I try to do the prep for the whole load of veggie so its quicker next time. (ex- if i'm using celery i go ahead and trim, scrub etc the whole thing)

My 3 year olds favorite is to use the leftover chicken and Vegetables and make soup. Just add to ramen noodles with the seasoning packages. It's really good.
