A lot of times it's very tempting to grab something to eat on the go when you're running errands. What are your tips for avoiding that unplanned expense?

Combining errands really helps me with this. I'm out less, so the temptation isn't there as often. I also keep a granola bar in my purse. Sometimes I just let myself spend $1 on a pretzel at Sam's Club. I can share it with Maggie, and it probably saves me over $1 on impulse buys when I do my shopping. Usually this is planned, though.

I keep a box of granola bars, cereal bars, crackers, or something similar in my car.

My blood sugar drops without a snack in the morning so I always have granola bars in my purse. During the summer when the girls are with me on errands I have a snack box with juice boxes, granola bars, and Goldfish or pretzels in the car.

I fell into the trap yesterday. Me and dd went to Walmart, passing our favorite TAco Bell. I caved and spent $11.00 for two people for lunch. I could have spent that on a good meal at home. Next time I will drive 50 miles out of my way to avoid TACO BELL LOL!!!!

I keep a cup of goldfish in my purse for my 3yr old and a few lollipops.

My survival tote is in the front seat of my Suburban, I always have snacks in it.

I always pack a small cooler with water or diet cokes, and a few snack bars. If I have a lot of errands to do, I will throw in several pieces of fruit!

I keep a good supply of snacks in the car all the time. Beef jerky, nuts, granola bars, raisins and dried apricots. That way we are always prepared.

I like to bring snacks to keep me from buying, but sometimes you just need to be treated so I will get something small, like a box of something at the grocery store and we share. But we always bring our drinks with us and that saves us a ton!
