Have you ever had a stockpile mistake? Have you ever purchased something that was a good deal, and you thought you would use but ended up needing to throw it away?

I've fallen into this trap with the Lipton Noodles & Sauce. I was able to get a bunch of them for less than 25 cents a piece. I got so sick of them after about a month that I dropped them to the food pantry instead of keeping them around. They got about 15 pouches!

I haven't but my MIL has she just offered me to take as many boxes of honey nut cherrios or luckcharms home the other day. They were on sale for $1.99/box the larger box and she stocked up big time and way to much.

Hot sauce! I've been getting Franks Red Hot for free and had up to 15 jars at once. I've been giving it to anyone that will take it! lol!

My biggest problem is I buy a lot of stuff to stockpile, the old stuff seems to get put on the bottom or back of the shelf. Then it goes out of date before it can be used.

My biggest problem is just stuff going out of date.

But I am working on that

Have to laugh at this one! I have 8 jars in my pantry right now - luckily my dad gave me a cookbook for my birthday called "It's a Wing Thing" so every potluck, book club, etc that I go to for the next few months I will make something "wing-y".

My only real mistake was cereal last year, but I got it for free, too. I ended up giving 8 boxes of Cheerios to the Boy Scout food drive because I knew we'd never eat them before they went bad. I don't know if it's really a mistake if you didn't pay for them, though.

I donated some canned chicken to the food drive, because we never eat it and it was expiring. But I like to have it, in case of emergency, or extreme laziness.

We are moving in 3 weeks so I have to use up my stockpiles so I don't have to move them. So I have to try to pass up good sales and coupons for now so I don't add to the problem. It is hard when I can get food for a quarter with sales and coupons. I think the items I am going to have trouble using up quickly will be salad dressing, condiments,
