I have a friend who does this. She doesn't make any "big" grocery trips. She just goes to the discount bin every few days and makes her menu around what she finds. (They are big meat eaters.)

Anyone else?

Do you have a strategy? Certain days or times you go?

I check the discount bin when I go, and if there's something we like there, I snag it, but if I need something that's not there, I pay full price for it, or if I'm short on money, I don't buy meat.
I certainly don't plan my menu around whatever meat happens to be discounted that day, but we don't eat meat every day anyway.

90% of the time. My grocer has a very good butcher and there are always good things to be found in the 'buzzard bin", as we call it. We have a freezer so we always stock up. I also go to the grocer every few days for fresh produce, so I'm there anyway.

None of my stores have a discount area for meat... Before Albertsons closed if you got there early you could find discounted stuff scattered through but that was it.

I will stock up on discounted meat! I don't shop specifically for it. I just grab whatever is reduced and put it in my freezer. I only buy store brand organic.

I buy it when I see it but don't make my menu around what is on the discount.
