I eat out very rarely, and when I do and its with my dh, we have different tastes, so no, I wouldn't eat half his steak/potato (or I risk losing a hand . I do cut whatever I'm eating in half and ask them for a goody bag, so I won't over eat. When I go out with friends for a drink, we split appetizers.

Yes, my dH and I have done this before between the two of us and even with our kids when they were really little. My parents do this sometimes also between them and no we have never been charged for an extra plate.

DH and I do this all the time but we always double the tip. We have been places where it is written on the menu that an extra plate is $3.99. We just told them we would eat off the same plate and that was the end of that.

NO. Dh is too big of an eater. Dh has ordered two entrees before just for him!!! Plus I usually get things that will warm up nicely for lunch the next day.
