I live in a house of picky eaters (dh included) so I generally fix what I know everyone will eat. I try to base the menu around if I know so and so won't be here that means I can fix this Example, my oldest step-dd does not like ground beef unless its a hamburger (try to figure that one out) I will not make dishes involving ground beef unless I know she won't be home. I know this is being sort of a short order cook but I figure I can at least make sure they eat a good dinner and we can all sit down together.

Everyone has input but I have final say and I get to pick the day we have it. I plan the calendar so I know what day's I have time to cook, what days are crock pot and what days are grad a sandwich and run!

i do monthly menu plans and i ask each person to give me 7 things they would want to eat...and then i look at the list of things they like that they did not list and i make it up that way.

I do both. I am making the menu but when some family members suggests, I would gladly give them a chance.
