I remember as a kid always having toast and a fruit for breakfast. over the years I have gone away with that but now i'm doing that with my kids and they love it.

Plus its a pretty cheap breakfast if you have in season fruit on hand.

Every morning with a piece of fruit and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.

My kids have 'toast and spreads' - jam, peanut butter, nuttella, maple butter, etc. Some mornings I'l make the kids homemade oatmeal. It's really cheap too. Cereal is pricy around here!

Yep I do and it is really cheap! I try to mix it up though at breakfast so the kids don't get bored with it.

I do it but I still serve a side protein (i.e. cheese cubes or a few bits of LO meat or cold cuts)...I've noticed for my family that we need a protein boost in the morning.

We had cinnamon toast with smoothies for breakfast this morning, in fact.

We have something different every morning. Hoping they get a good variety in their diets. Some days we will have yogurt and cinnamon toast, or peanut butter toast.
