I challenge myself with keeping my Grocery and food spending in check.
My three goals
1. $50 or less on my weekly trip to the grocery store
2. $200 or less on my monthly trip to costco
3. $40 or less weekly on my other food related expences (Coffee, take out, or eating out)

Would anyone be interested in joining me? What are your goals to keep your food budget in check?

Me I admit I need something like this. I have had 3 months in the last year where I am over $700 in food spending and 6 months the year before. I have even had one month that we spent a wopping $956

These last couple weeks have been good for me. I walked out of the store with a smile because I was in my goal range:happy dance: the only big down fall this month was $35 for dinner last saturday night. It was my in-laws anniversary and I really wish we had a say on where we dined.

I'd be interested... but Im not sure I can do $50 a week. I have family of 5. $75 might be more doable...

Next month money is going to be tight so I'm in. This week I'm going to do the July menu and stick to it.
1. My goal will be $65/week on groceries.
2. Nothing spent on household items (use up what is in my stockpile)

I'd love to join - I know I can stick to $50 a week, my downfall is there is always a great sale and I decide I "need" to stock up. It's crazy because I'm pretty sure we could eat for weeks off my stockpile!!

So, I need to keep at $50 and not stock up just because I see a good deal!

My goals:
$75 per week on groceries
$100 or less at Sam's for the month
Use at least one coupon per shopping trip, unless I can get the generic cheaper.

My goal is $350/month on groceries (actual food) and household stuff. I actually have a lot to use up and next month will be very tight with dd's tuition and paying for her tutoring now. I'm going to take out that amount this Friday and put it in an envelope and that's all we'll use for the shopping this month. I hope I can stick to it. I think this is why we never have much left at the end of the month. I've never budgeted our shopping before. I know that this will keep me on track!

I'm interested! I am not really sure what my goals are right now- I need to go through what I just got today and find out what I want to do. I had to get some birthday stuff today so that made my "grocery bill" go up- yes I did the Target grab a few things deal today! I will post my goals tomorrow!

Yes, I'm up for it too. I should only need to buy fresh produce and eggs. I've got milk in the freezer I can pull out and I have a lot of stockpile I need to use up. We will be on vacation for 2 weeks in July so I only need to buy what we can use before it spoils. I think I can go as low as $40 per week. That's my goal.

I am going to make my goal for July to be $200 for food (this doesn't include household items or dog food). My goal for the end of the year is $150/month.

ETA: It is easier for me to track it by the month than weekly. I usually stock up at Aldi about once or twice a month and then buy perishables as needed.
