Can you freeze sour cream?? I have never tried, but feel it might not be a good idea. Has anyone done this, and what was the outcome??? Please help!
Thank you!

I freeze sour cream all the time. When it thaws out, it does look a little different-not as smooth. But the only thing I use sour cream for is recipes that it gets mixed up in, so it doesnt really matter what it looks like. It still tastes the same to me.

I've never frozen it just as is, but have frozen meals that contain sour cream with no difficulty. HTH!

Thanks ladies! We don't eat a lot of it, but I have some coupons for some (target printouts ) and figured I'd stock up on a couple or three. We don't go through it fast enough when we do get it, and figured I'd try....I might give it a go, if nothing else, if it's bad, I wouldn't have wasted too much money on the effort. Thanks!

I know what you mean, i hate having a big 16 oz container of it and only needing a small amount of it for tacos or something. I feel like im really wasting it.

We just threw the rest of ours out yesterday because it went bad, and there was over HALF of it left! Things like that just peeve me. At least if it goes bad when i freeze it, at least I would have tried to save it, instead of just using what i need and throwing it away. UGH.
PS-- i just started using coupons here and there, and yesterday at walmart, DH giggled and rolled his eyes when i busted them out when we were paying. I was like "hey, I just saved $6.30!" lol. He'll realize the savings when I get better at it! He laughed and said "ok, babe, whatever... "
