-Their cream soups are AWESOME!
-Regular soups, canned broth are good too.
-Canned veggies
-Crackers are really good and cheap. Their selection is good.
-Tortilla Chips, Pretzels are good
-Yogurt, sour cream, milk, eggs
-baking supplies, flour, sugar, honey, baking soda, etc. (at christmas they have a bigger selection)
-boxed desserts are good
Lots of their stuff is good, we have only found a handful of things that we won't buy again.
-Cheese gets moldy fast
-bread molds fast as well
-produce is hit-or-miss. Sometimes it looks like junk and sometimes it looks good.
--We thought their spaghetti sauce was WAY too sweet, but lots of people like it so I would try it and see...it's only 99 cents.

Their frozen waffles (according to the kids) are great. Only .99
The frozen chicken tenderloins are great.
I buy their ground hamburger and pork chops- they are good.
Milk,eggs,canned fruits and veggies,dinner rolls,cinnamon and swet rolls-all good
THeir Brown and Serve sausage is .99 and it's good.
My dh thinks their english muffins are the BEST.
Ice cream is good.
Butter is good and cheaper.
I like their saltine crackers, but not the "ritz" kind.
I have bought their lunch meat and it is ok.
Their pasta is also good, but I have not tried their pasta sauce.

That is interesting because cheese and bread are two things I always buy there. I have had cheese from there in my frig for up to a month with no problem. Bread never lasts too long at my house, but it is always soft and fresh. I wonder if it depends on your store and their supplier?
The spaghetti sauce my dh thinks is the best stuff he ever had. We do add italian sausage and mushrooms though.

It must be regional because I tried the block cheese 3 different times and it was watery/rancid the first and moldy the other 2. I gave up on the bread after a few tries as well because it would mold in 2 days.
We live in North Carolina so the humidity might have something to do with the bread problem...

i love the spaghetti sauce! I add mushrooms and peppers to it usually and it tastes amazing! I've also found that the produce is usually cheaper. Milk is cheaper in our Aldi - if you don't mind generic brand milk.
I can usually get out of aldi with a CART FULL for around 30 bucks or so. I love it!

I have been pleased with all I bought there. The one thing I am pleased about it is the web page. You can look up recipes, plan your menu and print off a shopping list. The list will tell you what they sell, and what you will have to buy somewhere else. I tried it out this week. There was a couple things that were not available at my local aldis. My grocery bill was so low. I was jumping up for joy.

The produce at the Aldi I go to, is sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes it's awesome, and other times it's crap. I don't like their milk, it never tastes fresh to me. And I don't care for their fudge brownie mix either. Other than that, we love just about everything else we've tried. Even my label snob husband is now on my side. lol We've never had any problems with their bread or their cheeses, but I generally buy whole grain or whole wheat "white" bread, because it's the only way to get my husband to eat a healthy bread, and Aldi doesn't carry such a bread...yet! I too, like their Fit & Active brand items!! Oh yeah....Brian prefers their frozen individual chicken pot pies, over the Banquet brand! WOOHOO! I'll take .45 over .89 each anyday!!

I love their Fit & Active Italian dressing, tastes great, fat free, and $0.99 a bottle!
I also love their cereal, less than $2.00 a box. A woman I work with told me that her brother works for some cereal plant and they fill name brand boxes and the Aldi brand boxes from the same machines!
I normally only go there once every couple months and stock up, sugar, flour, oil, is always cheap, produce can be really good deal. I buy the bread if I am using it right away, like for weiner roasts, parties, etc...
What I don't like about this store, it can be a hassle, you bag your own groceries (remember to take your own bags or you have to buy theirs or look for empty boxes), long lines at check out, you feel pretty rushed going through the check out, and yes make sure you have cash or debit card, they don't take anything else.
But I normally get a good bit of groceries for under $40.00. And I will buy like triple of things that will keep.

The only thing I haven't liked is their snack chips - too salty. I get their cheese all the time - no problem - all the dairy stuff. I prefer name brand yogurts tho. Graham crackers are a great deal, and the imported big chocolate bars and all the baking supplies. The bags of chopped dates in the baking supply area has the BEST recipe on the back for oatmeal-date cookies. Seriously - everyone loves them. I haven't had any big problems....graham cracker crusts....spray oil...frozen desserts...

Everything is a really good deal at Aldi's! I just wish I would have started my food shopping there a long time ago. I would have saved so much money.
