I buy everything I can at the grocery store (food, cleaning supplies, cat supplies, etc) - since I usually have 3 or 4 little kids with me going to the store and I'm worn out after 1 store. Does anyone else do that or am I wasting money?? Do you buy everything at one store or do you divide up where you get things? I'm more interested in saving money at this point!

I actually take all 7 of my kids shopping with me (2 of them are 2 year old twins), and I usually only get groceries at the grocery store (that I go to weekly) and get the other stuff like cleaners, diapers, toilet paper, etc at a Walmart type store (usually once a month or once every two months).

I have my dd going with me and of course she wants everything so I set down with the sales adds and make a list of exactly what I need and where. That way when I go into the store I know exactly where to go to get it and out we go! I do go to several stores for the sales and I save money doing this. Of course, I am from a small town and everything is within a few miles away.

When I had an infant I would get as much as I could at the grocery store.

I get mostly groceries at the grocery store. I get the other stuff at Target.

I have been known to drag 4 or 5 kids along with me. When I grocery shop, I go to 3 stores. Cleaners and such I buy at WalMart, Target or Family Dollar. Our dog food always comes from Target. Our cereal usually comes from Target also. Baggies and toilet paper, shampoo, deoderant and such usually comes from WalMart. I just can't bring myself to pay the prices they want for somethings at the grocery store.

I try to organize and stock enough that I only go to one store a week, but sometimes it's Target and sometimes it's the grocery store. I just try to keep lists of what I need from each, so I can more or less alternate and get what is cheap at Target there one week and what is cheap at the grocery store there the next. Most of what is cheaper at Target is non-perishable, so a little stockpiling helps there. I find the perishable things are almost always cheaper at the grocery store, except for occasional sales, like the other week Target had potatoes for .50 for a 5-lb bag. But mostly, their produce and meat, etc., is pricier.

I used to shop at Meijer where they had EVERYTHING but sadly I dont have Meijer anymore so thats not an option. :-( So now the groceries are at the grocery store and if there is a good price there I get some of those things. I also shop at wal-mart VERY frequently cause its right there. It all depends on sales and stuff. Luckily my son loves the grocery store. Target not so much.....He ends up crying every time we go there.

I normally have to drag three children with me so I choose Wal-Mart super center. I do check the adds and if the price is cheaper elsewhere I show the cashier the add and I get the cheaper price. This saves me gas and sanity.

I usually buy everything at Walmart....Cleaners and household type stuff at our grocery is usually double what it is at Walmart. I will sometimes go to the grocery store for the weekly deals that Walmart didn't match and I go to Albertsons once in awhile to check there discount meats, but I never buy anything else there....its SOOOO expensive! If its not on sale its double or triple the price at Walmart. Then I get all our bread items at the discount breadstore. We dont have an Aldis or discount/ding and dent store or I'd shop there too.....

I'm a BJs gal! I can usually get quite a bit of things that I need in bulk, and not have to shop again for about 4-6 weeks. Everything else that I don't want to get there, I can usually get at Walmart, like my cleaners, and bread, stuff thta is cheaper. I try to do my BIG shopping about once a month, then I wait till my older kids are in school to hit walmart. Saves my nerves a bit that way, and thats PRICELESS.
