I don't know if it's my competitive instinct or not, but now that I have learned a bit more about the "grocery game", I get very frustrated when I lose. Like, the other day I finally bought several jars of Hellman's at a so-so price because I had coupons about to expire and didn't want to have to go to the store again. Of course, the next day, CVS announced a special deal on Hellman's that would have made the same purchase half the price.

Now, on the one hand, I know it's "only" five dollars (even though it's the little amounts that can add up in this game), and I'm overall still saving so much by at least paying attention. But on the other hand, I feel as if "they got me" this time around. I always get so frustrated, knowing I could have made a better deal.

I think I am a poor loser! What about you? Do you get frustrated when this happens to you, or do you just shrug it off? Or do you even notice?

Yes, yes I am. I bought face lotion that was supposed to be buy 2 get one free by rebate. I had been waiting for 2 months for it to go on sale b/c I had two coupons too. Well apparently some aspect of it doesn't qualify for the rebate. Then it goes on sale at Walgreens the day after the rebate period ends for what is now a cheaper price b/c I'm not getting a $15.00 rebate. I'm trying to decide if I will return what I bought and go to Walgreens instead. But then I wasted the coupon.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wasting brain power on losing at the coupon game.

It IS a waste of brain power, isn't it?

Maybe all these mental mathematics will keep those synapses open and help protect us from Alzheimer's later. It's got to be as good as sudoku, right?

I never did like to lose!

i am a poor looser!
i don't buy it unless i really, really want it, then i don't regret it, or I wait until it goes on sale/have coupon with it.
I had some left over pork loin roast in the freezer that i wanted to defrost and make in the crockpot with BBQ sauce, but I waited until the BBQ sauce I wanted went on sale, then I had a coupon, so, I got the BBQ sauce FREE! and it was the good one too!
i have become more frugal than my family can believe! but, i am a single parent, and i can't believe how much money I am saving now that i take care of my hard earned $$
