What do you think is more cost effective - fresh or frozen OJ?

I haven't done the math recently. The last time I calculated it, the answer was frozen. In my house, the most cost effective is the oj my kid will drink. In that case, UNFORTUNATELY, it is either Tropicana or Odwalla.

OJ has gotten very expensive, and I live in FL so it ticks me off!

Frozen is usually cheaper. I strongly suggest NOT buying liquid OJ that says from concentrate - just buy it frozen and add the water yourself.

We used to have trees and then they came in and chopped them down like madmen due to citrus canker. If your trees were within a certain distance from infected trees ( a far distance too!) , down they came.

I don't really care how much it is, I only buy Simply Orange, calcium added no pulp. Right now a jug of that is $3.37, I remember when it was $1.99, and that wasn't too long ago.

I hear ya about living in FL and it is still expensive!!!

I think that both are expensive, the only thing with the frozen is you can add more water to it, but a frozen container is like $2.50, and a half gallon is $3 on sale. I personally like the taste of the non concentrated stuff better, but whether dd had a say it it lol she'd get what she got.

I buy the large cans of Kirkland brand frozen concentrate in a 6-pack from Costco. I compared prices between three local stores, and it was the best deal for us. It is more tart than my family likes it, so I (admittedly) add a little sugar to it to take the edge off.

I buy the gallon jug of TG LEE orange juice at Sam's Club. It is about $3.69 a gallon but well over $5 at the grocery store. You would think that OJ would be cheap in FL but it isn't. Of course, fresh squeezed is the best.

We don't buy the frozen concentrate anymore. It's usually Simply Orange and pulp free, but it has to be on sale. My kids don't like the taste of concentrated oj and won't drink it.
