How much do you spend?

And also... what would be a good range for the monthly or weekly cost of groceries for a family of three? (2 adults, and currently a 10mo old)

And by groceries I mean just food. That's not including diapers, wipes, TP, etc. (also we have WIC for her formula right now so that won't be included)

Hi there!

We are a family of 3 (2 adults and one 2 yr old DS) and our grocery budget is $400/mo but we also spend around $20 to $40/mo on take out or restaurants that comes out of our allowances. That is just food, I have a separate budget envelope for diapers, paper products and what few cleaners we buy.

I had a $200/week budget for groceries... TWO adults and TWO children (4&6)
until maybe about a month ago.
We can manage around $100-130/wk now.
I'm still trying to decrease this figure though, there MUST be a way!

Without diapers and baby food and other household items...we probably spend about $100 a week on just food. But we buy mostly organic so it's usually more expensive than regular food. That's for 2 adults, a three year old and a 9 month old infant.

I spend probably about $300 a month for a family of 4 (2 children aged 4 and 16 months, both are really good eaters). I'm disgusted by the cost of food right now. I'm really trying to cut down my cost but am having a hard time. That's not counting the $200 a month I spend at Walmart on other things for the house/family. Ugh!

We are a 2 adult and a 16 month year old family. We used to spend around $160 every week. Now I only go every two weeks and spend around the same, so our monthly budget is $300 - $400 per month. We pack about half our lunches and are working on taking it more often. This is just for food as I always buy non-gorcery items somewhere else! The biggest gain from going every two weeks is we use more of the food and less goes to waste. We do have to buy more milk than we used to in one visit, but everything else stayed the same for the most part. you can always tell it is time to go to the grocery store now sine our pantry really gets bare - but it is so satisfying!

We are a family of 3 two adults and a 2 year old. Our current budget is $125 for the month. I can usually keep it to $100, but at times I need to go over so I do add the extra $25. My goal is to get it down to $80-90 per month.

This does not include any H&B or diapers. We currently are not eating out so there is nothing spent on that either. Needless to say I use a lot of coupons

Do you eat meat? I just can't comprehend only spending $125 for the month. I am trying to only spend $100 for a week, but we eat meat and that includes pull-ups when needed as well as any other HBA and cleaning product that is needed. I am having a difficult time with this. I only buy exactly what I need plus a few snack foods. We only eat out once a week.

Our family of 2 adults & a 6 yr old boy spends roughly $200-250 a month...But that includes household items like detergent/soap/paper towels...I usually look for sales on meat/poultry... Especially for buy one get one...Thus, our freezer is almost always full. We try to not drink soda (key word is try). We hardly eat out too. I can't wait for spring so we can start planting our own veggies again...I usually skip buying veggies (especially tomato) in the summer since we get a decent amount and variety from our small garden...We splurge on some luxury though like Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
