Can someone tell me what exactly Egg Beaters are used for and if they're any good? With the cost of eggs out of control, I was wondering if these were worth it. Can they be used to cook with too?

I use them for everything I use eggs for. They are lower cholesterol and lower fat. I don't think they are as inexpensive as eggs even with the higher price of eggs.

They're great. A very easy and fast way to whip up an omelet! They are also good for baking because you can just measure out an egg. I've also seen the eggbeaters egg whites too. Really great for baking because you don't have to separate an egg and waste the yolk.

We've been using them for awhile since DH has high cholesterol. As the PPs said, they taste fine and they're great for baking.

We buy ours at Costco, they have the Kirkland brand there.

OK, I had to LOL since it is over here in the US too!

"Egg Beaters" is also a brand name of a product. It's actually an "egg substitute" using the white part of the eggs and doesn't have cholesterol.
