I'm considering cooking up a bunch of beans & freezing them. Black beans, baked beans, etc. I was wondering where the cheapest place to buy them is? Aldi's? The closest Sam's Club is 45 minutes from me so it'd have to be a lot cheaper to buy them there than here. But obviously, I want it pretty cheap to make it worth the effort.

Also, any tips to freezing beans?

i would never pay more than a dollar a bag at any grocery store for dry beans. most stores, including Kroger and Carnival (MInyard's affiliate) charge 69 cents to 79 cents a bag. don't drive to Sam's for beans. they're pretty cheap as is. and of course they're always less expensive than canned.

as for freezing beans, i put mine in a ziploc freezer bag, let all the air out and throw them in. you can set them in the sink to thaw or if you're making something like chili, just let them thaw as you're cooking. you may want to google this, but i think different beans have different freezer lives.
